NRC-NFE Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund for CLCs

Nepal is deeply affected by the 7.9 magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal on April 25th, 2015, as of May 2nd, there are more than 7000 dead and tens of thousands more injured and even more displaced. NRC-NFE is raising funds and mobilizing personnel to assist the Community Learning Centers (CLCs) areas most affected,  we have prioritized support to four areas on the outskirts of the Kathmandu valley who have sustained the greatest damage so far:

• 1. Amarapur  CLC, Ward 11, Karyebinayak Municipality, Lalitpur District
• 2. Siddhipur CLC, Ward 13, Mahalaxmi Municipality, Lalitpur District
• 3. Chittapol CLC, Ward 12, Suryabinayak Municipality, Bhaktapur District
• 4. Khumbeswor CLC, Lalitpur Submetropolitan City, Ward 22, Lalitpur District

We would like to thank our first donor and long- time supporter NFUAJ who have already collected USD 16,700 towards our NRC-NFE Earthquake Relief Fund.  NRC-NFE has also committed our staff along with 2,24,000 NPR towards the NRC-NFE Earthquake Relief Fund for CLCs.

We are currently surveying the damage to move forward in rebuilding not just the physical structures but also the community's health and well-being.  As of now, there is need for shelter and sanitation as well as food and medical assistance, we will be updating our website as we find out more details of the specific communities' needs.
